What better way to discover Ticino's most enchanting towns than by turning their cobblestone streets into a giant game board? In Ascona, Locarno, Lugano and Bellinzona, clever city games invite you to find hidden clues, solve puzzles and overcome challenges as you weave through historic centres and stumble upon secret corners you would never find in a guidebook. A clue might lurk on a church facade, behind a theatre's side entrance, inside an art gallery window -- or even within a move of a virtual chess game. The real world and the digital one merge in a succession of challenges that grow more complex with every step.
Sato Code - Escape Room through the city
Discover Ascona, Bellinzona, Locarno or Lugano as you have never seen them before, thanks to Sato Code -- a real-life, boundary-free escape room experience built around a different theme in each city.
Just as in a traditional escape room, you must hunt for hidden clues, crack codes and tackle challenges. The difference? There are no walls. The game path winds through the historic centre, and clues can appear anywhere: etched into a church facade, tucked in a library alcove, hidden in a gallery window. The virtual and the physical constantly intertwine.
The game can be started at any time, day or night. Simply reach the designated starting point -- usually in the city centre -- open the Sato Code App and begin your search for the first clue. Each solved puzzle unlocks directions to the next stage, and the challenges grow steadily more complex until the final test.
Sato Code is a team game requiring at least 2 participants, each with a smartphone and an internet connection. The app delivers different pieces of information to each player, so -- like assembling a puzzle -- everyone's contribution is essential to advance.

Galileo - Foxtrail Lugano
Another thrilling treasure hunt awaits in the streets of Lugano. Teams of at least two follow the tracks of a wily fox, deciphering secret messages, uncovering hidden clues and embarking on special missions. The trail begins at Lugano Railway Station and is particularly well suited for families.
Equipped with material provided by the organiser, tickets and a mobile phone, participants set off along the trail. As the hunt progresses, the "fox hunters" face tasks that demand puzzle-solving skill and a dash of courage: decoding ancient inscriptions, following cryptic clues or requesting information via SMS. If you find yourself stuck, a helpline is always available to nudge you back on track.
Booking is required online at www.foxtrail.ch, where you will find full instructions for the game.
